Holingshead was selected to receive the award for the "Most Interesting
Garden". This beautifully landscaped and maintained yard has a small
wooded area that runs the length of the property (which is really a utility easement
put to a very good use) for walking the cat 'Pepi' on a woodchip path complete
with wildflowers in the spring. In the yard itself there are many pieces of automobile
paraphernalia integrated amongst the many beautiful garden beds of annuals, perennials
and shrubs. |

Usha and B. N. Raju received the "Best Perennial Garden" award. They have many garden beds on their property full of several different
varieties of perennials, some annuals (for that constant color) and shrubs that
all together make a strong visual impact. There is a path that goes continuously
around the home leading to the gardens. Next to a stream is a garden with a bench
to sit on while listening to the wonderful sound of water running over rocks.

Margaret
and Joesph Gantz received the "Best Shade Garden" award. They have a beautifully landscaped property with a large backyard in practically
all shade. A new perennial garden has been planted around a large patio. A beautiful
tall natural wood fence gives this corner lot serenity and privacy. Beautiful
shade gardens grow on both sides of the fence. The front yard has an island of
unusual species of trees and shrubs. |
