Our June meeting will be our annual “Past Presidents' Tea” and lunch at the Longacre House.  Hopefully, we will have some warm weather by then.  This year I promise that I won't forget to introduce the past presidents!  Our new officers will be installed as well.

Chris Britts, Barb Dermody, and Joann Jenkins attended the Flower Show School in Livonia.  I am looking forward to hearing how they enjoyed it.

We are still looking for someone to be Horticulture Chair.  Betti Pool and I will be doing the yearbook.  Please call Betti if you have any changes or corrections to your information in the book.

The Fred C. Fischer Library in Belleville will be hosting a garden walk on Sunday, July 27, 11:00-4:00.  Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 that day.  Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling 734-699-3291.  I will have flyers at the meeting.

Allen Park Garden Club will also be having a garden walk on Saturday, June 28, 9:00-3:00.  Tickets are $8.00.

Most of you know that Betti Pool and her committee care for the gardens at the Warner Mansion.  Committee members from our club are Betty Beausoleil, Chris Britts, Joann Jenkins, and Mary Lou Seaman.  They have a good time working on the gardens on Wednesday mornings and then go out for lunch.  Betti is always looking for additional helpers, so please call her or talk to her at the meeting if you are interested.

Decorate a hat with flowers and bring it to the June meeting.  We plan to take a photo and send it to the newspapers to publicize our upcoming GARDEN WALK

Tickets will be available at our June meeting for the “Farmington Garden Club Garden Walk.”  All members are expected to purchase two tickets at $10 per ticket.  You can then sell them or give them gifts to friends.  The signup list will be at this meeting as a reminder of which garden you will be hostessing.   This is our major fundraiser so we need every ones support.

Hostess Committee – Chairman: Betti Pool
Mark your calendar now for the Monday, July 7 meeting, which will include a potluck luncheon at the Warner Mansion Museum.    We will have a sign up sheet so you can indicate your preference or, if you do not sign up, will be assigning alphabetically to bring a salad or a dessert.  This is always a fun summer event and gives members who do not have the opportunity to visit the Museum a great opportunity to step back in time.  It’s also a good time to bring prospective members or visiting family members.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU to all members who brought artistic designs to the meetings this past year.
For many, it was the first time you have arranged flowers.  I hope you enjoyed the experience as much as I did.  We have some real potential in the club and there will be more opportunities to share your talents in the coming year.   Again, thank you.    Jan Dolan
