Congratulations to Past President, Dottie Young, on receiving a Life
Membership at the spring district meeting. It is well deserved since she
has been given us many hours of work on many projects. We will certainly
miss her when she moves (We hope that won't be
soon). This was the biggest turnout I can remember at a district meeting;
and it was, of course, because of Dottie. Unfortunately, many of us had
to leave early, and I hear we missed an excellent program given by the owner of
Bloomz in
Congratulations also to Yearbook
Chair
We all thank Marge Allen, Betty Bock, Jan Dolan, and Eleanor
Sanders for stepping in at the last minute and presenting the
flower-arranging program in place of Kay
Blakeney. Their arrangements were beautiful, and
their comments were very informative.
I talked to Kay today, and she
is doing well and scheduled to go home on May 30. She may even be
able to come to the Presidents' Tea! I know we all look forward to
seeing her. Dianne

Tip
Recipe for ridding your garden of the dreaded black spot and mildew
1 T. hydrogen peroxide (It must be a freshly-opened bottle.) in 1 qt. water.
Mix and water under, not on, the plants
I am excited to see if this works because black spot is rampant in my yard, and
nothing has worked.
